Covid-19 Killed Breakfast Everyday

Chetwynd House Inn has provided comfortable bed and breakfast lodging for short-term stays for 50+ years. Covid-19 has forced me to eliminate breakfast. Travel trends for the past few years have also proven guests only want breakfast on one day of their stay, not each morning of their entire visit as it has been in the past. Some guests never have breakfast and prefer to go out for a latte and a pastry at one of the local coffee shops or restaurants. Planning to provide diversified, fresh, nutritious and enjoyable breakfasts everyday for guests has become a difficult task. For me, after 39 years of cooking and serving breakfast, I think it's time to end "Susan Sunday Breakfast Everyday".

Covid-19 and a broken political system will never allow the Chetwynd House Inn to go back to normal. With 1/3rd of the population not vaccinated because of some political stance, and misguided belief in a fascist tyrant, the risk is too great. It’s time to eliminate risk, and retire from serving breakfast. I don't wish to be infected or die serving breakfast to the unvaccinated.

As I transition away from Bed & Breakfast the Chetwynd House Inn will continue to offer short term and longer term lodging.

Day after Day, guests come to the breakfast table with anticipation. 'Will the fruit today be melon, pineapple, pear, peaches, strawberries or blueberries?' 'Will there be 'Susan's Sinful Hotcakes?' 'Shall I have the egg dish today? Well maybe a blueberry muffin too!'

A true Bed and Breakfast. Small, intimate, friendly, helpful.
